Arbitrary it’s not….
The goal of the process is always to achieve a business objective. That’s what good design does.
It starts with asking smart questions, from which a design brief will be created. This document will outline our objectives, and keep us on the right path. If it is deemed that a visual dialog is necessary in order to get the brief started, a mood board may be created, which will help visualize where we’d like to go.
Once a brief is approved, the creative process beings. Many ideas will be worked with in the sketch phase. We’ll pull and push a lot of possible solutions, turning over many stones in process. Once a handful of possible solutions have been developed, we’ll translate those ideas to tighter presentation comps.
The comps will have addressed all necessary visual areas – colors, fonts, graphic elements, cost to produce – all working together toward reaching our business objective.
The process can be seen below…a design brief, mood board, sketches, and a final identity package.
